I've noticed this on all of my BI systems. I use the web interface and export a portion of a clip. Then I noticed the entire clip is missing from the stored folder.

Is there a fix for this?

I just tried that and my original clip remains intact. I'm not sure what you're doing differently to trigger such a problem.

So the original 4GB clip is gone and inside the clipboard folder there is the shortened version of the clip I exported. I am using H.265

Here is the error when I try to view the full clip in BI. It's pointing to the Clipboard folder for some reason. And it's pointing to the file I exported but not the BVR file like the clip was originally.

Here are my record settings.

See if Blue Iris's log has anything about this in it.
This is the only error I see in the log

The other interesting thing I see is that the file in the clipboard folder has the original file date. It should have been a newly created file with today's date.

I checked settings and I see an interesting option that I don't ever remember setting. Maybe it's this Nvidia encoding option under Settings/Storage/Configure Convert/Export and then the Encoder Profile for export 0.

Well that seems to have done it. I selected NO for HVA. Then I clicked OK then I tried to click OK in the next screen but I clicked No because it warned me with this message below:

The setting still took. I went to the web interface, exported a clip, and my original BVR clip is still there.

That setting sure is BETA. Been driving me nuts for a while. Thanks bp2008 for the help in guiding me to the solution.

That is still really bizarre. In no situation should a failure of a hardware encoder cause a clip to be deleted. Likewise exiting from Blue Iris's settings window should not prompt about files being overwritten.

You are correct, not sure why the clip wasn't deleted last time but I'm having the issue again.

I exported this morning through the web interface and the entire clip is gone again. When I click on the clip, it seems to be directed to the clipboard folder for some reason. In the storage folders where the clip should reside, the entire clip is missing.
