I'm in the process of installing and setting up blue iris software on a friends computer. I understand that you must turn on "Less secure Apps" in google chrome for the email to go thru. So I go to google settings/less secure apps, and there is a note saying as of March 30, 2022, google will no longer allow the less secure app to be used. So how do you set up the email section of blue iris. I keep getting an error message.

You now have to set up an app password, that is a password just for that app (or program in this case).

Make a microsoft mail account like outlook.com mail.
I have a hotmail.com address sending the outbound emails from BI.
using a Gmail account was a twisted up mish mash, that kept ending in test failures.
Go out with a different sender than reciever and you'll get twice the alert mail storage.
I fill my 15Gb limit every month out from hotmail, out to my 15Gb Gmail.
if your sending/ receiving on the same account you'll fill up faster.
