Blue Iris iOS app WAN vs LAN

Hey everyone;

I've been setting up a new network, and it seems my Blue Iris iOS app always prefers to connect via the WAN method vs LAN, even though it's accessible via the LAN address. Does anyone know what criteria the app uses to select WAN vs LAN?

I would have thought that it would attempt to connect via the LAN address, then if it failed would use the WAN address.

if you are on your lan, it always connects via your lan, you router does this for you.

Yeah I presume it’s my convoluted network. I have multiple routers and 2 gateways.
