Hi there,

I'm experiencing an issue when trying to access my Blue Iris cameras remotely using Tailscale VPN.

When I enter my Tailscale IP address as the WAN address in the Blue Iris app, the app automatically reverts this setting back to my ISP's IP address. This prevents me from properly utilizing my VPN connection for remote camera access.

Is there a way to prevent Blue Iris from overriding my manual IP configuration? I need the app to maintain the Tailscale IP rather than defaulting to my ISP address.

Thanks for your assistance!

Have to enabled advertise sub-net routes on the Tailscale client inside your local LAN?

You only need one instance of Tailscale running inside your firewall with advertise sub-net routes enabled.

Then you can simply use the local LAN IP address of BI or the individual cameras when connected to your Tailnet.

Example, I can access any IP based device on my local LAN remotely using its static IP (via DHCP reservations) address. Eliminates the need for Tailscale magic DNS and assigned IP addresses. Also allows any apps you use to work the same when on your local LAN or remotely when connected to Tailnet.
