Hi
I have a strange issue. Starting on 10/2, my Blue Iris now restarts every 4 hours (on the dot), starting at 4am. I have made no changes to either the PC, nor Blue Iris that would've caused this. I'm currently on version 5.3.3.6.

Any ideas?? This is really aggravating.

Thanks!

I just reinstalled Visual C++ Runtime. Lets see if that helps.

Welcome to the club. If it’s a “restart after unexpected shutdown (1500/240)” error, I’ve been fighting that since May. I have 14 cameras and it seems like it happens when 1 camera closes a video file and tries to make a new one. Does that happen every 4 hours on your system?

And no, I have still not been able to fix it.

His problem is not the same as yours. His is due to the latest unstable release issues. You need to wipe your system and start fresh using MS media creation tool and dont install crap. Blue iris is not the cause of your problem otherwise at least one of the 20 BI systems I have running would have this issue as well as the thousands of users here. They dont.

It could be a very similar problem. There are only so many things that happen every 4 hours, and closing a video file and creating a new one could be one of them. It might at least give him an idea of something to change to see if it alters or eliminates the crash.

He says he had not made any changes, aside from the obvious fact that he upgraded. 5.3.3.x is not stable. If your system is still crashing after all this time, you need to reinstall windows, there is something very wrong. Even if you determine that its occurring when a file is closed or opened, there is nothing you can do other than a clean install to resolve it. Its a 15 minuet procedure. 5.3.2.7 is stable.
