Recently reset the password on a lorex DVR. The Lorex viewing software would no longer connect until the password was updated in the software.

For some reason I don't unerstand, BlueIris will not connect using the new password, but it still works with the old password that was changed. How could this be?

I've restarted the DVR, and the scenario remains where BlueIris connects to the cameras using the old DVR password, but does not connect using the new password. But the lorex software viewer connects using the new password but not the old.

The login is for same account, its not a mix up of using different username. Its the same account. When I change password on DVR, BlueIris only connects with original password. I've changed password many times, but the original password is only way blueiris connects, but lorex software will only use newest password.

I've rebooted it twice. I don't see any settings in the DVR for onvif. In BlueIris Camera Settings > Video > Network IP > Configure, and then putting in IP address and login info, then clicking Find/Inspect is where the old password is bringing up all the channels and connecting to the DVR, but using the new password it doesn't bring up any info.

We have seen this with some cameras where the admin password in the ONVIF manager remains with the first password, so a similar thing happens.

In the case of the cameras, you can go into ONVIF manager and change it for the admin password.

Either the NVR won't let you do that or you are not seeing the screen to change it - have you tried logging into the NVR through the web interface on Microsoft Explorer? A lot of time the NVR web interface GUI provides more settings than doing it directly on the NVR with a monitor or mobile device.

The cameras are analog. I did manage to get into the DVR's web interface using old internet explorer, as its so old it won't work in new browsers. Still no extra settings.
My next route is probably do a factory reset.
