I guess their new tag line is.....BMW - The Ultimate Subscription Machine

But since the heated seat coils are in the car but didn't want to pay for it, I would just bypass the subscription and "hotwire" (pun intended ) the seat to make it work. :)

Absolutely, as vehicle makers tightly integrate all manner of fly by wire control of the automobile. Anyone with enough time and resources can take direct control of the vehicle and make it into a weapon.

  • Think auto start / disable
  • Crash avoidance
  • Lock / unlock
  • GPS tracking

All of these things already exist in vehicles being sold today and simply requires a person(s) to take command and control of the vehicles electronics. Any vehicle that can be auto started can be disabled so think what would happen if you were rolling down the road and that happen??

Newer vehicles that incorporate any form of auto pilot or where the accelerator, brake, and steering wheel can be controlled: Think auto parallel parking

GPS: Whelps, don't have to tell anyone what this means if someone is trying to track your location and historic movement.

Phone???

That's right anyone can listen into your personal conversations when you least expect it.

Cameras???

How many of the new vehicles have interior and exterior cameras for parking and to help with auto pilot??? Now they can hear and see you anytime you're close to the vehicle . . .

It's called Jumping Air.

Another great video by Steve thanks for sharing. As stated many times here in this thread and others. The negative trend to adopt and implement such a business model and practice just affirms.

Stupid is easily accepted . . .

The general public need to vote with their wallet. They need to use all the public social media platforms to make others aware and shame the hell out of these companies!

Back in the day a company would just offer a product that was feature rich and reliable. That is known as value and thus word of mouth helped drive sales. Now, everyone is racing to the bottom trying to find the cheapest way to make X vs Y to only last F days / years?!?

When the big three American companies are world renowned to make and produce the worst (reliable) cars vs the competitors think the big three Japs:

Honda, Toyota, Nissan . . .

Which literally spans decades you just have to scratch your head and laugh. When even Steve affirms they don’t own or capture the market as they did 50 years ago!

I still remember the video of the big three taking the Japs on a tour of their vehicle production facilities. The big burly Americans that were guides and PR people all laughed and smiled as to how very cute the Japs were taking all these photos and videos of EVERYTHING!

Only ten years later the beginning and later the massive decline in the American Automotive Industry!

America is and has been the leader in almost everything that’s great. They don’t need to follow this path!

I don't know how their customers even allow this - I would steer clear of BMW, Mercedes, and Tesla

It's time to be a crook and INVEST foolishly and irresponsibly just like these folks with ego-driven minds and an excess amount of disposable income with no regards for people in their surroundings

"...but the people are retarded."

There's a difference between being smart with an intellectually driven mind versus being smart by abusing the system by extracting and investing loads of money acquired through unconventional means

To know and have knowledge is one thing, but the folks that have money but don't have a knowledge, sensible awareness, and understanding of various cultures will do things irrationally because THEY CAN - and this is who the current market is for
