Break-in

Good thing you did not have keys in your vehicles, she would have got a sweet ride!
Might check to see that she did not keep a door opener, so she could come back again.
If she had found the keys to one of those vehicles, she probably wouldn't have gotten two blocks before getting into an accident. She was absolutely brain-fried.

But she could certainly have given a stolen garage door opener to a friend of hers in exchange for more fentanyl.

Both vehicles have G Door openers are integrated into rear view mirror. She walked past a $2K electric bike about 10x, but did not take a second look. I keep the battery inside. When the Deputy saw her that next morning, she was on a bike. I was lucky there, I Never leave keys in the vehicles, and hide them when I leave the house. Nothing worse than giving someone a quick get away car. I am now on an automated service where it gives you real time updates on her status, such as bond and I think court dates.

Just a quick update on this event. The defendant had a pretrial hearing last week and pleaded guilty. 26 months in the county jail. Obviously, the defense atty saw the video of her inside my home and told her she does not have a chance. Before the pretrial, the state atty office called me and tried to get me to let her plea deal on a lesser drug charge. I told them Hell No. For those of you that feel sorry for her, she has a rap sheet 4.5' long printed with small font. Maybe she will finally learn a lesson. IP Cameras do work!

WTF would the the state attorney want such a deal? It's like they get a kick back from the defense attorney or something. This is very frustrating as "minor" offenses get let off again and again. I do feel sorry for her. But, she has obviously had numerous, numerous opportunities to straighten out. Maybe 26 months will help her!

Yes, when the state atty called, they wanted to talk to my wife about the plea deal. Obviously, because they knew females would be more compassionate and likely to agree with plea deal. They even kept saying I could call them back if I changed my mind. That pissed me off, and I was very straight forward with them and stated I will not change my mind and continue with original charges. They must give and take on various cases and play a game between them.

During the Pandemic, Tampa/Hillsborough released murders from jail because it was too dangerous to keep them incarcerated but then arrested Pastor Rodney for holding outdoor services! Too dangerous for hardened criminals but a pastor is such a horrible human being that he deserves to be put in that same dangerous jail cell. I do not think highly of your ridiculous Mayor\former sheriff. Hope the Perp does her time but I doubt it.

You did exactly the right thing. That girl is on a downward slide to overdose and death. Nothing will stop her drug use short of incarceration. You may be saving her life by insisting that she answer for what she did.

So basically, they are all about screwing the victim to further their career and make their job easier... Yeah, if they did that here, and called my wife, they would hang up on her and call me begging for me to protect them from her. She would have cussed them up one side, back down the other, and gone back to start all over. I keep tweaking my cameras here to protect me from such meth-heads that we have roaming the streets here. So far only one has ventured onto our property, which is not fenced, but is on a hill.

It is very, very sad.
