Caamera UI or Blue Iris?

I'd like to know which basic settings should for the most part be configured in the camera UI? I just found out that the recording frame rate and iframe configuration is done in the camera UI. I thought most things could be configured in BI, but apparently not.
What else? Would be nice to know....

everything should be done in the camera. Blue iris can change some exposure settings on some cameras...otherwise simply log into the camera interface.
