Cable gland or alternative for PFA130-E

Getting the hang of it

I've got a few installs about to go up. All but 1 will be tucked away underneath trim, siding, etc. These runs will then enter the PFA130-E through one of the tapped conduit holes. I'd like to reduce this and ordered a cheap set of glands off Amazon. Turns out I don't think they'll fit. I saw people say the holes are 3/4" and "standard" fittings should work.. I ordered Robot Check

I wasn't aware that PG# is a thread type, and G3/4" was also a thread type. Some research seems to indicate they will not work. I was thinking I could teflon tape the threads to give some cushion, but if it's a large disparity, that's not going to work and I'll be gap filling with fixes.

TLDR:

I've got bare outdoor rated CAT6 entering PFA130-E from the side, need a waterproofing gland or other means to keep this watertight. Looking for recommendations.

hmm, the set i bought came with different rubber seals for various cable sizes but its been removed from amazon
the closest i could find was a french version of it but maybe you can find something similar in the US, i'm from the UK btw

As promised, here are the pictures. It works!! Threads well, matches well, and seals nicely. I was concerned at first, but after tightening the outer nut the cable grommet cinched down nicely onto the jacket

Better run the cable thru a conduit, which is going into the gland. Better protection for the cable from the weather and eventually critters. :)

And if you have a rubber seal that fits between the gland and the housing, install it also.

Yea whole thing is coax sealed in the box, but no room for conduit. This fits along a vinyl side and stone veneer wall

Nice! I've not seen this before. So to be clear the RJ jack head or whatever it is called fits through the hole then it seals shut? You don't have to ifeed the cable then nstall the RJ connector yourself for this one, right?

Correct, o wasn't necessarily looking for the ability to feed the connector through, but it does fit after the fact. It is a very good seal. I understand the conduit discussion, but for installs where that is not practical or possible, this is a win.

Looks like those might work, but the opening diameter is 10-18mm, I only have a cat6 cable sticking out, and Cat6 cables are around 5.8MM diameter to 8mm diameter (for CMX shielded cables). So I still think the M25 / Altech 5309 624's are a better option since the opening diameter range is 5 to 12mm so it should fit snug around installs that just use the Cat6 cable.

Agreed, the opening is a bit large. I simply take a piece of closed cel foam to fill in the gap before tightening. One of several methods, your's included, that are effective in completing the task at hand.
