I only access my Dahua PTZ camera via SmartPSS on my macbook and windows PC. The PTZ controls are pretty lame with a mouse so I thought I could use a joystick controller to better follow movement etc.

Can anyone recommend the perfect controller setup for this? I access my dahua and axis cameras through the internet only. Ideally if I can use the same joystick controller for both brands that would be great, but I would also be happy enough if I can only control my Dahua cameras.'

I was looking at these:
Dahua NKB1000-E PTZ Camera Controller
Dahua NKB5200(-F) Android Network Control Keyboard
PTZOptics SuperJoy Joystick Controller

I have zero experience with how these joystick controllers work so I appreciate any advice on this.

Thanks!

Interesting question.

I would think that you would have to incorporate a Video Management System and then run the VMS's thick client application in order to gain the USB Joystick --> Camera PTZ functionality. This is how the mid-size corporate VMS deployments do it.

There might be some fancy camera-specific PTZ joysticks where you program the joystick itself with the ability to log in and control certain PTZ cameras. I have no familiarity with that.
