Howdy everyone.

I work for a company that does lots of construction site CCTV and commercial grow op facilities. In this thread I will be posting photos that I am permitted to that will not break the terms and conditions of my non-disclosure agreement.

Attached is an image of 1 of the 3 cameras that I just "rebuilt." Really we replaced everything except the cell modem.

These cameras are mounted on 10' poles and are installed on the Rideau Canal here in Ottawa. The canal is used as an outdoor skating rink in the winter. These cameras are live streaming cameras.

Inside the enclosure is a cellular modem, a 12v power supply, and that's it. These ones are super basic, but I assemble some units that are packed with equipment.

We painted the cameras and fiberglass enclosures black as per the client's requirements.

Looks cool, thanks for sharing! Do you need any other brains between the cellular modem and the camera? Like a raspberry pi? Or does the camera talk straight to the modem?

That's a nice discrete wall mount. Most hik wallmounts i've seen before are not as neat as that. Is it a DS-1294ZJ-PT?

Nope. The camera goes directly into the cellular router/modem. There's a VPN tunnel or something on the cell modem. That stuff is above my pay grade tho.

No, it's a DS-2DE3A400BW-DE. It comes with the wall mount. It's a little crappy tho as the wiring is only just long enough to get to the box, but not inside it, meaning everything is crammed inside the portion that mounts on the box.

I have limited experience with the hik's, the factory wall mount does not include the box, correct? If so, any identity/product ID markings on the box? Could see using them for a variety of things

Correct they do not include the box.

You want more info on the fiberglass enclosure the camera is installed on? Sure. They're made by Allied Molded. I don't think they're called fiberglass on their site. I think they're resold by Hammond manufacturing too.

They're not cheap tho. The box this camera is on is a 8x6x4 and it's over 100$ by itself, and we have some much larger ones we use for other things.

Here's some more photos of the Canal Cameras. I have the enclosures with the camera mounted to 2" EMT using our time lapse camera Pole mount bracket and I fastened it to the pole with my stainless steel banding tool.

This was my morning job, relocate this camera I installed back in August or July or something.

These cameras were pretty much already built but they got some extra goodies and reworked and tested before being installed again.

Basically the same as the canal cameras, except we were planning on using the WiFi in the building to avoid 3 separate cellular charges but for us to make the WiFi work we'd have some programming to do and need a raspberry pi or similar to "sign in" to the free WiFi every day... yeah, we went with cellular for them. These cameras are being used as time lapse cameras. Photos are uploaded to our servers.

Here's the last thing I did today before going home. I put together these power boxes for an install I'm doing next week. All they are is a 60 watt 12v DC power supply inside an enclosure to power a Ubiquiti radio and a PTZ camera. I had the option of using PoE injectors to do this, but I'd have to have used larger boxes, and these 60 watt power supplies we don't really use for anything (we were using them for time lapse cameras, but we needed more power to run the 12v heater so we end up with 60w power supplies as I remanufacture the cameras we get back). Unfortunately the only photos I can share of the time lapse cameras are of the outside. The time lapse cameras are heavily non-disclosure agreement. So there will be no photos or information about them other than we offer cutting edge time lapse solutions for construction projects. Our standard cameras are 24MP but we are testing some prototype 42MP time lapse cameras.

Not exactly an install but definitely fun to share.

Rented a greenlee 555 bender to bend 1 length of 2" EMT for a custom camera pole... so we bent 5 of them. 3 identical ones, one small parapet style mount, and one large one.

I would have had 2 large ones if I didn't kink the first bend I did... lol.

Then I bubble wrapped one of the poles to prepare it to be shipped to the installer... I think this is the most hilarious looking thing I will ever ship...

These poles are mainly for use with non-penatrating roof mounts for flat roofs. I wish I had some of these 1.5 years ago... I'll find the photos of that install for you later. Trust me, you'll find them hilarious.
