Just one external camera connected.
The IR lights show at night.
The POE link shows a camera connected.
The green/yellow lights flash constantly rather than intermittently.
The camera does not show under Cameras connected.

Need more info. Lots.
With respect - read your post from the viewpoint of a forum member who knows nothing of your problem or setup.
Then provide something they can help you with.

Not very tech minded in this area.
My NVR is a DS-7608NI.
Just one camera connected and it worked for over a year.
The camera is a DS-2CD2032-I.
The IR lights are visible at night.
The green/yellow lights flash in a constant pattern, rather than intermittently.
The POE tab shows the camera is drawing 3w but nothing is showing under LIVE View.

I will try and answer and questions that are asked.

My NVR is a DS-7608NI.
Assuming a /nP model with PoE ports.
Have you tried unplugging and replugging the camera cable in the NVR PoE port?

The POE tab shows the camera is drawing 3w but nothing is showing under LIVE View.
In the NVR web GUI, what shows for the status of the camera?

Assuming that Virtual Host is enabled in the NVR (Network, Advanced settings, other) click the link for the channel in the right hand column on the Camera Configuration page of the NVR web GUI.
If that gives a login prompt, try logging in with the known camera or NVR password.
If that doesn't work, try 1111aaaa and asdf1234 for the password.

Was off line for a while.

Yes, its an 8 port POE

I now have Virtual Host enabled.

I have a similar camera plugged in locally at back of NVR at D04. That camera is online and shows images under Live View.
The previously working outdoor camera is at D06. Clicking the link in the last column does not work.
The working camera is taking 3.1W and the one that is missing is 7.6W.

That's a little high for a DS-2CD2032-I even with the IR on.
Presumably you've power-cycled the D06 camera by disconnecting/reconnecting the ethernet cable in the NVR?

A useful way to find out if the camera is still working but changed in some way is to use SADP.

Just connect the PC to an unused NVR PoE port and SADP will find any active Hikvision devices automatically.
You don't need to change the PC IP address.

I have power cycled D06 a number of times now.
I will have to look for my cable taster and the camera is up high.
I will check the POE output shortly as IR should be off.

I have a new Mac with no RJ45 ports. I have run SADP and to finds the NVR.
I have installed IVMS-4200 and His-Connect. They both work and I can see the test camera that is connected locally.
I was getting messages last night of No Plugin Detected. I found it on Safari and installed but not sure if it worked either.

OK, so you won't be able to connect to an unused NVR PoE port to find out if SADP finds the missing camera.

As you have SADP working here is something you could try :
Start SADP, confirm that the NVR becomes visible.
Disconnect the NVR LAN cable at the NVR end and connect it to an unused NVR PoE port.
Refresh SADP and see if the missing camera appears, as well as the working camera.
If so - check what's shown for the IP address and the firmware version.
Put the NVR LAN cable back into the NVR LAN port.

Did that. It detected the test camera I reckon.
It detects the NVR twice.
10.246.1.95 is the address it gets from the router.

Ok, that's good.
The working, online camera is correctly detected.
But the missing camera does not show.
I do believe that confirms the missing camera is not working, as opposed to maybe having changed to an unknown IP address.

I think the next stage would be to take the camera down for examination.
With external PoE cameras, a common failure mode is moisture ingression at the RJ45 joint, causing corrosive failure of the electrical contacts.

I've taken it down and plugged it into the back on the NVR. IR lights flash but camera is not detected.
Take a close look inside the RJ45 connector, looking for discolouration or corrosion, with a magnifying glass and strong light.

Do you have a 12v supply that would connect to the 12v connector on the camera?
As a long shot, power it from that, connect it to a router / switch ethernet port and see if SADP sees it.

It does seem like it has failed.

Great. Is there any recommendation for clearing the terminals of the RJ45 connector if that are discoloured or corroded ?

Have you confirmed that the terminal looks damaged?
Corrosion can result in the total loss of one or more of the contacts.

The only real solution is to replace the cable end, or the whole cable.

No I haven't check it yet.
Cleaning or replacement looks like the only two solutions ?
I have a similar camera with a broken RJ45 connector.
I dont have access to a female rj45.
Would it be okay to put a standard RJK45 plug in it and a straight joiner?
