Hi all, newbie here...
I'm looking for an IP cam to monitor my car in a parking lot right below our 7th floor apartment.
I guesstimate the distance from our balcony to the car to be around 25-30 meters.
The camera must be waterproof and have IR illumination.
Its ok if the field of view would also capture the surroundings as long as the image can hold motion detection triggers around the car, facial recognition would be great but not mandatory.
I have no idea if these requirements are exaggerated or increase the price tag dramatically.
I saw some of the recommended IP cams around here are about 150-180$ but they also have 2-6mm focal length which i think is too wide for my needs.
Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks!

At 100ft for fixed cameras choices get limited

Either the Z4
(may not get great facial ID (depending on angle, light etc) but you'll have a good image of the car)

Or the Z12
No problem with the distance but 2MP fyi

Here is a vehicle at approx 100ft

Normal 2.8mm-12mm lens zoomed about 6mm
Probably too wide for you

A Z12 zoomed in to capture license plates
probably too tight for you

Thats why I'd probably choose the Z4 for your scene requirement. It would zoom more than the top image, but not as much as the second one.

Awesome thanks! I'll research these cams.

Yeah, at 120ft I’m running an external Tendelux IR unit. The onboard gets there, just not as strong as you’d like for LPR.

If the parking lot is lit up or good ambient light, you may not need it
