Camera settings for BI

What surprises me is that even if a camera is set to 15fps in the firmware of the camera the frame rate will vary somewhat, from camera to camera, for no reason I can think of. I can see that happening looking at the cameras tab in BI. Maybe it'll wander a half frame or maybe a little more, but some of them so tend to wander. One of those mysteries in life like where does the hole in a donut go when you eat the donut?

I have noticed that if they wonder more than about a half FPS that it is a power issue.

Like I could tell when either I overloaded a POE switch or a port was ready to go out. When I would change the power source, the fluctuations went away.

I know that none of the ports or switches in the system are even close to max and I seriously doubt any ports are failing. I recently added a second switch and split the cameras between the two. The same cameras show that same wander on the new switch versus the old switch. Maybe it's the clock in the camera wandering. Beats me.

All my Dahua cams only seem to wander around +/- 0.5 a frame when I’ve sat there and observed them.
