After speaking with some construction professionals over the past few weeks, I've been seriously considering starting a camera rental business for temporary construction sites and events. My goal is to keep the system straightforward, focusing on easy transport and assembly. Based on my experience with flexible setups like a 3-inch flagpole that tends to move, I know the system needs to be more rigid. I'm envisioning a design using 2-inch pipes arranged in a square pattern, spaced 6 inches apart, with plates at the top and bottom to secure each tower section. These sections would be 10 feet long and easily stackable.
I've found that the optimal height for surveillance cameras, particularly in outdoor settings like construction sites or events, is between 12 and 20 feet. This height allows for a broad field of view while still capturing faces, bodies, and vehicles in detail. It provides a good balance, avoiding common problems like only capturing the tops of cars or people's heads. For PTZ cameras, a height of up to 20 feet offers more flexibility since these cameras can zoom and adjust angles. However, I don’t plan to go beyond that height.
Given that some sites may not have optimal lighting, which PTZ and fixed cameras would you recommend for use in low-light conditions?
