OK. I just received this Western Region camera from AliExpess...
Model DS-2CD2342WD-I
Serial No. DS-2CD2342WD-I20150906BBWRQQQQQ465
Firmware Version V5.3.3 build 150630
Encoding Version V7.0 build 150609
The camera was running POORLY: Sluggish...then responsive...then un-responsive...then non-responsive! Yikes...this suQs thought I.
So I downloaded the firmware for the model CMIP3142W-28S (file name: IPC4_V5.3.2_150915v2.zip), firmware version: "IPC4_V5.3.2_150915v2" from the LTS website. I crossed my fingers and uploaded to the camera (System > Maintenance > Remote Upgrade).
And all fixed. The camera now responds SMOKING FAST and the problems previously experienced are no more.
Thank you very much Mr. FastCamMan.
I'll tell you though...pushing that "Upgrade" button was a leap of faith!
But PLEASE think this through before you try this and NO COMPLAINTS if YOU brick your camera as result.

Do you have some more info on that firmware? (changelog, version nr., etc.)IMO this is the "blink" issue which appears at night. On given time base the NVR tries to set its settings to the cameras which results in full iris initialization of the camera. You can try this firmware which comes from Hikvision, and solves that issue (still wonder why Hikvision does not releasing it officially).
Version 5.3.3 build 150812. No changelog. The only thing I know for sure is the fixed blink issue.Do you have some more info on that firmware? (changelog, version nr., etc.)
They are a little better then 2332 though, but only a little. Although, I find new turret/dome not enough for large driveway coverage without some external light source, but if you have small space they look decent:I was expecting a little better night vision from the 2342 based on the specs.
I'm going to replace one of my 2032's with a 2342 once Nelly's gets some 4mm's in stock. The 2032's have too much noise at night. So far I'm very happy with night image of my 2332 and 2335 (Chinese model). They are a little better then 2332 though, but only a little. Yes, you can. Go safely with this firmware V5.3.3 build 150812 (not for Chinese cameras), where the blink issue (day and night) is fixed:So normally can i upgrade my 2CD2142FWD ? (faced dark problem with 5.3.3 build 160630 WR model not chinese)
