Hi, I have some DS-2CD2342WD-I , all ready on V5.4.0 build 160401
and some on DS-2CD2342WD-I V5.3.6 build 15110 . I can't upgrade any of them to the latest version v5.4.0 build 160530 , any ideas how this can be? there all UK spec from broadbandbuyer.

Thanks

If you want my advice I wouldn't update them! You will probably gain nothing and there is a chance you could brick them if they are Chinese cameras flashed with English firmware. If they are working fine leave them alone, I have Hikvision cameras with all different versions of firmware and they will all stay that way ;) If you've isolated your cameras from the Internet you have nothing to worry about.

Downloaded from where and for what camera series?
And what error are you seeing?
These are 'R6' series cameras, with firmware published here : HIKVISION EUROPE
think my problem is i was looking at the r0 series, :( my bad

I have just updated DS-2CD2942F-I to V5.4.0 build 160603
and my NVR DS-7616NI-E2 / 8P/A to V3.4.91 build 161220

Well done for getting there.
The 5.4.0 camera firmware has had a few negative comments, it would probably be of interest to others to hear how it works for you.
And the 3.4.91 NVR firmware is very new - so any comments on that will probably also be of interest.

If you have nothing productive to say, don't bother with minding what other people want to do....

Newer firmware does have fixes, even though Hikvision still has a 200 mile long list of stuff to fix (a lot of them are security issues).
textbox 16 character limit has been increased to 32 characters in 5.4.20.
