I have two eyesurv (dahua) mini ptz 2mp cameras powered by poe+ switch outside with one being fixed generally and the other constantly roams. I also have a normal 1.3 fixed camera on the same switch.

Two times now the mini ptz has locked up with no effect to the fixed camera. I wonder if it's not putting out enough power? A reboot of the switch fixes it. Any ideas? I'm thinking of just hard wiring them with power adapters but not in mood to drive 3 hours to get 2 stories up to hook up a power wire.

Impossible to say whether it is the camera's fault or the switch's fault. Have you tried swapping the switch ports for the fixed cam and the ptz that locks up?

I also have one of the dahua mini PTZs (DH-SD42212S-HN) on a PoE+ switch and it hasn't had any locking-up issues, but it is the only thing on that switch.

I dont think ive tried switching ports. It has only happened two times but the property does not monitor the outside cameras so I only know about it when I log in routinely. I was thinking of shipping a poe+ injector to them and see if that fixes it before i make the trip.

Locked up again. May try unplugging one of the cameras, maybe they are drawing too much juice

Using a Upvel brand switch. Thinking of getting a Zyxel switch and having it delivered there.

check cable ends, bad crimps can cause lockups..

I'll check cable ends and patch cables when I return. Odd it's only these two ptz cameras and the other lower wattage fixed camera has no problems.

It's about 2.5 stories up and the lift Is broken so checking the camera side of cable may be a bit till lift is fixed.

I got the large wattage 8 port gigabit switch off Amazon for $188
