Im wondering if it is possible to record each camera on its own hard drive in BI. Any info would be great.

My thought was if a hd failed at least I would not loose all the files from every camera. Is there another way to do this

So you are going to have 10 hard drives? how many cameras do you have?
If you are that concerned setup a raid 1 mirror...
or record half your cams to one drive and have to another...
What if your power supply fails? how about your mobo? system crash?
If you want redundancy, use cameras with sd cards and or setup a completely redundant server, or nvr..

Hey Dazcomputers...

What fenderman said! Plus (and you may already do this), you may want to put your PC with BI installed on an APC Battery backup in case of power failure. I've got all of my "mission critical" machines on these as it can sometimes wreak havoc with things that are constantly running, like BI. If you don't have one, here's a good model:

https://www.amazon.com/APC-Back-UPS...pID=41zNdp228oL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch

Depending on the size of machine and overall load, you can pick and choose which one makes the most sense. They tend to last about 20 mins or so (depending on the config), but if you are home when the power goes out, then you can at least have enough time to gracefully shut down the system, versus the abrupt power shut-down.

Cheers!
