Can analog cameras work on a NVR? I was told the cameras we have are analog (but they have ethernet cables) and I purchased a NVR. :( So I am confused. I assumed if the cameras are PoE then they are IP . Is this incorrect?

Analog and you have Ethernet cable and not BNC ? this is unusual... are you sure they are Ananlog and not IPCams ?
Anyway DVR=Analog and NVR=IPCam and whenever there are Analog to IP converters they might not be very efficient for your wallet.

I have two DVR's running HDCVI (HD Analog) cameras and both are wired using Cat5 ethernet cable with video baluns at each end. Works fine.

Dahua makes (and I think HIK does also) XVR's which will run both analog and IP cameras

Can you supply a picture of one of the connections to your cameras?
