I have currently 2 Dahua IPC-HDW5231R-Z cameras mounted, factory defaults.

This is the current Blue Iris view;

While reviewing the recordings, i noticed that the top right camera had artefacts now and then even tough it is closest to the POE switch which is powering the cams. What could have caused or is causing that? I am suspecting it is caused by the settings which are still factory default (on the cam).

I basically have a few questions, and you are of course free to point me to threads (specific posts please) which over my questions:

1) What settings should i use in Blue Iris for these cams?
Should i change anything here for better performance or stability?

2) What settings should i change/configure on the camera page?
Think of network settings, overlays, performance improvements that i should make etc.

3) With regards to firmware, i have these links:

ftp://ftp.asm.cz/Dahua/kamerove_systemy/_Firmware/04IPC/05-Eco-savvy%203.0/General/

SHOULD i update, and if so, are these links still valid?

@EMPIRETECANDY any thoughts? The cam is very blocky and has artifacts;
Device TypeIPC-HDW5231R-Z
Software Version2.460.0000.5.R, Build Date: 2017-01-17
WEB Version3.2.1.416768
ONVIF Version2.42
My roof cam (which doesn't show artifacts) is:
Software Version2.460.0000.7.R, Build Date: 2017-03-06
WEB Version3.2.1.427921
ONVIF Version2.42
I checked video and the roof cam is using H265 and the front door H264; i changed the front door to H265 also.

Post your configuration settings for Video. Also post your Encoding settings from the camera itself.
