looking at 2 cameras ipc-hdw4631emp and IPC-HDW2231RP-ZS wondering how they differ in quality and night performance, dont care about the zoom lens, just image quality.

The IPC-HDW2231RP-ZS is a good all-day performer, night and day, has Starlight

It is about the same I ask here upgrade for IPC-HFW2231T-ZS - higher details day or night

The result would be that 2Mpx Starvis gives you better overal performance day or night. 6Mpx might give you more details daytime, but it doesnt perform good at night. 2,4,5 series is about extra functionality, not about better picture.
