Can Blue Iris communicate across multiple subnets

We are toying with the idea of purchasing Blue Iris. We have IP cams in multiple subnets which are accessible because of LAN-to-LAN VPNs. Any issues here?

That's a comforting response, if I could venture a follow-up question:

Does Blue Iris "discover" the cameras, or does it latch on to the camera you specify by IP address?
