Hi all
We got alot of A..Holes lately breaking into our homes in our area on a daily occurance. I have to beef up my security a bit
I have a mixture of Hikvision and Dahua IP cams and its being managed by BI5
I recently looked into the camera's settings and found these tripwire settings:
Dahua camera that I want to set up a trip wire + alarm during the late night hours and very early morning:

Hikvision

So if I want to set this up would this be done in BI or through the IP camera?
Also is it possible to connect some sort of siren device and make that trigger once the trip wire has been crossed?

Thanks in advance !

Detecting something crosses a line is only half the story. Some cameras have GPIO outputs that might be able to be used to interface with an alarm, etc. BlueIris can interface with external devices through a number of built in communication protocals - IP commands, MQTT, etc. So yes, it is relatively easy to trigger an external device using the camera's trip wires, but obviously "it's all in the details" and there is more than one way to make this work.

The other half of the story is what you want to trigger with this information. For example, if the camera has a GPIO output, it could be as simple as hooking up a siren with a power supply and a relay to the GPIO output. When the GPIO output triggers, it flips the relay and makes the siren go off. When the GPIO output stops, the siren will stop. This is a fairly simple option that would not be hard to set up, but you also aren't going to find a "turn key solution" designed for this. You'll have to put together the equipment and hook it up yourself. It's just the nature of these types of systems because every situation/goal is different. These systems are generally designed and put together by installers who have the knowledge to accomplish the task.
