cannot access any of my video streams?

have a problem need some advice?

First thing ALL my Dahua cameras are working good with the NVR.

but when I go to use Blue Iris, SmartPSS, SmartPlayer etc... I cannot access any of my video streams?

not sure what happened, something must have changed with my Router? how would I determine this?

The only thing that is new, is that I now have some appliances that are WIFI like my thermostat, refrigerator, Washing Mashing etc...

I logged into blue iris the other day and i noticed both of my cameras had stopped showing a video feed several days earlier. I get an error code 8000274c (timeout check ip address and port) on blue iris. I tried to type in the ip address of the cameras to manually log in but google says the...

I found that my NETGEAR 5-Port Gigabit Ethernet Switch (GS105)
had the switch turned off.
now I do not know why or how the switch was turned off.

however when I turned it back on, the videos in BI came back on.

So very true.

I learned over the 31 years of troubleshooting and repairing microcontroller-based traffic control equipment, PLC's, discreet bipolar logic control cards, telemetry, generator controls, airport/runway lighting, blah blah yada yada, etc. (you get the picture....all kinds of complicated electronic/electrical stuff )...to never forget how many mechanical connections have to remain in their proper place and maintain their integrity for all that "complicated electronic/electrical stuff" to work as designed. To assume it requires a master degree to fix is not always the case. A good eye, sharp troubleshooting skills and an even better memory is your best tool.

And if OTHER humans are in the vicinity and have access, I can guarantee that often the " O - N - O - F - F " switch will be found in the " O - F - F " position (an old Naval Air electronic tech saying).

I never have understood the need for ON/OFF switches on routers, switches and the like...IMO, makes about as much sense as a screen door in a submarine.
