cannot access ds-7608ni-i2 settings remotely

Hello, i need a bit of help. I have a ds-7608ni-i2 setup at my parents home and id like the ability to access the basic settings using the ivms 4200 software.
I have portforwarded as follows:

I also have setup a DDNS.
So right now i have the ability to view the feeds with ivms-4200 but when i try to access the basic settings menu, the webpage opens but says:

Navigation to the webpage was canceled which is very wierd.... makes no sense how i can remotely view but i cant access the basic settings. on ivms i have tried logging in with my no-ip.com ddns address and logging in with port 8008 allows me to view the feeds but not change settings. 80 doesnt login, 8000 doesnt login, 554 doesnt login, and 443 doesnt login. Any help is greatly appreciated.​

it does make sense, if you might want to allow a user to see cams & recordings, but not make changes to settings on the system.

are you trying to login as 'admin' or as some other user? and if another user, does that user have 'operator' permissions or only 'guest'?

anyways, forwarding for this purpose (or any really) is really bad idea. you will get hacked. please look into a VPN solution...

fwiw, the default settings for a non-admin user created as 'operator' does not have the 'remote: settings' permission.

and the console doesn't let you edit that. only the NVR gui... (dunno about IVMS, tho mine seems to access the NVR only on port 8000)

hm. i dunno then. like i said, my ivms4200 talks to my 7608 NVR on port 8000 only, so maybe you've got some port confusion going on.

still, port forwarding for this is a bad idea. you will get hacked.

im assuming youre saying that if i have a basic router password? also my cameras dont have access to the web either, just my nvr. nothing i have has a basic password. its all alphanumeric and symbols lol

ok then, you'll be fine. not.

seriously, port forwarding opens a hole in your router's firewall and allows direct access from the internet. there are people/bots out there scanning for such open ports all the time. you will be hacked, regardless of passwords, as there are known vulnerabilities in NVRs and cameras that don't use or require a password. Sure, you can put the latest firmware on your NVR that supposedly closes all known exploits as of today, but there will be more tomorrow or the day after. you asked for help. That's all i can offer...
