Car explosion on Rainbow Bridge

The Rainbow Bridge bridges Niagara Falls, Ontario on the Canadian side and Niagara Falls, NY on the US side. Heavily travelled border crossing. Yesterday, a car launched itself and exploded.

It sounds like it may be a mechanical failure or health issue from the witnesses describing how it swerved to avoid another car. If it did swerve, I'd go with mechanical failure.

Some people thought it was a low-flying plane from the speed estimated by some to be in excess of 100mph.

That changes things quite a bit. So they may have been being chased but I haven't read anything stating that yet. I'm sure we'll hear more.
