Carport camera recommendation

I'd like to put something in the upper corner of our carport to capture the package dropoff table and as much of the rest of the area as possible. I think I'll get more width and height than my camera shot here by using a 2.8mm lens, but I'm not opposed to trying a varifocal if there is a chance I could still capture more and improve on DORI.

Maybe an EmpireTech IPC-T54IR-ZE-S3 1/1.8" CMOS 4MP IR Starlight 2.7mm–12mm Vari-focal Turret Security Camera ?

I don't have this camera myself, but thinking of buying one with Andy's next sales event. This camera seems like a very nice camera
for almost everything and flexible with the vari-focal design good for day or night. And it's not that expensive only $184.99.

Probably more for day becaues that's when delivers are except in the winter when it gets dark at 4:30, but night wouldn't hurt to at least see the area.

4MP 1/1.8" sensor fixed lens 3.6mm is probably what I would look for if I needed low light also ..

Otherwise a 8MP 1/1.8" model that can go IR mode if you have enough light .. the 1/1.2" sensor model I like but focus is limited and no ir model on those iirc.

More mp in the day will help get more pixels on that drop zone, as will a 3.6mm lens vs a 2.8mm lens. The 3.6mm lens should give close to a 90 degree fov iirc.

I was reading reviews on that ZE S3, and it looks pretty good. I could set it to 3.6mm or vary it to what would work best, giving me the most coverage with the best freeze image.
