i was looking through the forum but cant find anything to address my concern,
So i thought i would follow the instructions to change the current harddrive BI recordings are to another letter, and change the new harddrive to "C", howeveri am currently putting all recordings onto "C", and it says if i change that drive i may have issues with programs.

Current Harddrive Where Blue Iris is stored
C:\BlueIris

There are 5 folders stored here,
  • Alerts - Empty
  • db - bunch of .dat files
  • Log - Empty
  • New - video files
  • Stored - video files

New harddrive is
D:/

I was wondering if i can just copy Alerts, DB, Log, and make new folders (so they are empty) of New and Stored
And then just change the file location in BI from C: to D:
?

or is there something else i have to do , i want to make sure i dont mess it up

I can't confirm that this is correct, but it follows the general logic of how it should work.

If I were going to try this, these are the steps I would take.
1. Copy everything to D:/ (leaving C:/ intact)
2. Update the destinations in BI.
3. Rebuild/Repair database in BI.
4. Wait a few days to make sure it works.
5. If it works, carry on. If it doesn't work, revert back to C:/ in BI and Rebuild/Repair database.
