Well, at $130 + shipping not really cheap if you compare to everything else, but they are certainly the cheapest you can find. Anyone wants to take one for the team and test it out?

Do you have a link to the datasheet? Closest I can find is the IMX253 & IMX255 which appear to be 4K/8K; both of which appear to have incredible sensitivity (1146mV color @ F5.6) given the resolution. (IMX178 is 425mV, IMX291 is 1300mv, IMX185 is 1120mV; higher is better).

If it's like the 253/5; it's basically a high-res IMX185 rig with no loss of sensitivity, which is awesome, and would be a steal for that price. Something tells me that's not the sensor they used.

IMX274? Attached. It looks like it has 237mV

Yikes. Yeah that's not so great. I'd bet this thing looks incredible in the day and sucks wind at night. You'll need a lot of IR, and I have trouble doing IR correctly.
I think I'll sit this round out. Nice detective work on the datasheet btw.

So as expected night vision isn't great and much worse then IMX178... but daytime detail is awesome and better then IMX178.

Do you know when some other camera manufacturers besides Longse will start to use these same sensors?

This is the first I've seen of it on aliexpress. Appears to be unbranded, and double the price of $130, right at $252 plus shipping.

Normally I avoid these small chinese brand cameras like the plague since every one I ever bought has had reliability problems, but $130 for 8 or 12 megapixels and I might have to bite. The lowest price Dahua 4K is down to about $260 and it is over a year old.
