Hrmmmm, I wonder is that even true about postage cost. Cheaper for other countries to ship to us but cost more for us to ship to them.

Definitely is true and needs to be done. At commercial rates it costs ~$22 USD ($23.50 non-commercial rate) for me to ship a 1 lb, 12" or under First Class package (least expensive way) from the US to China or to most all of the rest of the world, Canada/Mexico being a little less. The same package costs somewhere between ~$4.95 and $7.35 to ship at First Class commercial rates within the US depending distance. Shipping the same package from China to the US costs a few dollars even with added services. The cost differences are even more substantial with higher weights/larger packages.

The epacket rates from china are crazy cheap. Even if USPS got the entire amount, I don't see how they couldn't be losing money on every delivery.

They are and there is a lot of discussion about this with eBay sellers. It has to do with China being considered a "developing" nation.
