"check time is out"

Dahua does t seem to keep fw links updated real well. Hard to say. Make sure it’s exactly your model number and the date is usually at the end of the file name

well when i goto dahua wiki site and select my camera model and click firmware, it takes me to a 2XXX R13 firmware file. tried it again, says operation failed. this is bullshit.

dahua wiki is a clusterf*ck. not to mention it's for usa camera part numbers only, which my N22AL12 is, however all of the cams andy sells are international numbers besides the custom lortya numbers he gives his cams. So i went directly to dahuas website and it looks like they upload new firmware every few days here:
now, again with no user manuals and none in english, what the HELL is the difference between NP and PN firmwares? i feel like every time i think i'm stepping in the right direction i end up taking 2 steps back. last thing i want to do is brick a camera in times like these. well hell, my 5241 Z121E is acting strange as i type this, a car went by and the screen flashed white for a second like someone stuck a flashlight in front of the camera. my 5442 is purple, ugh. I have to remind myself if i'm having a good day then i dont' need to play with these cams, they only frustrate me more and more.

what a wild goose chase. i goto dahua usa, enter N22AL12, it takes me to the camera page but there's no option to download firmware, hell i can't even search for the word firmware on the usa dahua site. it sends me to a wiki site and when i click on downloads it takes me to the dahua international site and when i search N22Al12 it says no results found. if these damn cameras would work properly and find the firmware when you click the update button then non of this would be an issue!! 2 hours wasted trying to update camera firmware because i have a purple image on a new 5442.

so ignore the bug fixes? and ignore your pay raise because you're getting by just fine without it? lol
Ha yep, i have my cameras recording all the time. I don't have any rules set, don't need it. I check my footage everyday. Blue iris saves a clip every time there is motion, and all i do is go through the different clips to see if there was any degenerates doing anything around my house. That's all i need, i don't need to check in when i am not home. If anything happens to my house the alarm goes off and the police come. The alarm company will call me and that's it. So my cameras do not need any updates, they are recording everything i need the way i need it.

If it aint broke - don't fix it

this is proven by windows updates - sometimes one will screw things up and have you stressing for hours or days only to find out the "latest / greatest" bug fix was actually the problem.
