So this started about a week go. It pretty much made BI unusable with indexing every restart, etc, so I completely wiped my PC and surveillance video HDD and started fresh. Updated to 5.9.9.59, same issue. Downgraded to 5.9.8.5, same issue. Frustrating because my system worked flawlessly for 2 years and now I can't even use it. CPU is low at 5%; RAM at 1 GB out of 32; BI is the only thing running on my system. I do run continuously then delete clips after 6TB (7.27TB drive). Right now I have 50GB on the HDD and I still get this error. Any clues why this is happening?

So are you just getting that error or is the performance actually suffering?

This is a recent addition in the last 2 years or so showing these errors - in the past people had them but BI wasn't tracking and pointing them out.

How often is your system restarting?

Are you doing a daily compact/repair?

Who makes the drive and how old?

Are you manually deleting the clips?

System doesn't restart, the program just freezes then continues if I click any buttons or a clip. Right now, I just tried to play a clip and the whole screen froze with the spinning circle. After a minute or so, it goes back to normal.

Compact/reindexing daily

Seagate Skyhawk AI 8TB Surveillance Internal Hard Drive HDD–3.5 Inch SATA 6Gb/s 256MB Cache- 4 years old

Clips go into NEW with max 6TB then delete. No time limit on that. Stored not used and set to 1GB. Alerts set to 50GB then deleted.

Normally I'd say its a memory issue but my ram is barley used.

I also get this error APP live.sem stuck

I gotta go to bed, working early so I'll get back to you tomorrow. Thanks.

Are you saving all Cameras continuously at Mainstream? This is a Shitton of data being thrown at the HDD. try Substreams? with mainstream on triggers?
Is BI running on an SSD? ( hopefully)
here is my total stream

Perhaps the Seagate hard drive is showing signs of future failure....or its being fed too big a spoonful of cam streams.

I decided to change my "Record" settings to "Continuous" to see if I can make BI send an error for disk cant write fast enough...but (DOH) I have twin WD Purpl Pro's at 7200 RPM sharing the load.
So I can't replicate your issue exactly.

Funny, My Mbps of data remained unchanged. So i'd have to dive into BI help file to see if Continuous defaults to Mainstream ( unlikely) or defaults to Substream until triggered.

are you recording cont. Main stream?
whats the Mbps?

I'm also getting a frame bottleneck and getevents error now as well. Which is strange since I have had these setting for at least 2 years without any issue.

Drive is going bad.
6700kB/sec is like 6.7MB/sec isn't really that much should be able to handle this like it has for the last 2 years no Problem...
I'd go for WD purple 8TB Pro
Standard speed WD 8TB at 5640RPM WD85PURZ ( would be ok)
Pro version @7200 rpm WD8001PURP

Sometimes you just get caught up in finding out what the problem is and it’s pretty straightforward. The Seagate Skyhawks is 4 1/2 years old so I’ll replace it with the purple pro. Thanks for the help everyone.

Be careful about which seller if you go with Amazon.
try and source it from a reputable seller.
A lot of unhappy Amazoners who opened the box and got used on or an RMA one that wasnt even fixed.
This Ip Solutions guy on Ebay has a 100% seller satisfaction rating.
