Clips and archiving suggestion

Hi there total newbie here.

Can anyone suggest rough settings if my set up is 512GB SSD (C drive) and 1TB (D drive)? I bought the PC 2nd hand (but us newish) and in planning to upgrade D drive later, but for now can you suggest? Thanks
 
Put blue Iris software on the SSD. Put the new folder on the D drive do not use the stored folder. Set the new folder to delete. Set the max size of the new folder to 95% of the total free disk space. Do not manage storage based upon time, only manage storage base upon size.

DO not have a virus scanner run on your D drive. Do not have the disk defragmentor run on the D drive.

On each camera set combine and cut to 1 hour and 1 GB.

Do not put the new or stored video on the SSD.

Are you recording on motion or continuous ?
