Comparing real pro cameras to home grade. More than resolution specs.

Those are big PTZs. Can’t miss em. Both are EOL I think. 6 series 433 and 445

In some cases a spotter cam picks up the subject and tells the ptz to turn “over here” and the ptz takes it from there.

Most of those though it’s just the ptz tripwires that activate the tracking.

Hanging a ptz is easy. Figuring out all the possibilities of how/where to track the perp can take many hours/days and glasses of bourbon

Camera is 60-70 ft from where most are picked up.
It tracks nicely in that dim lit scene to about 300-350 ft at night. 500-600 easy during the day

Here's a more typical use case. Residential, mini-ptz, about $400

When combined with other cameras for close up ID, you get a better overall set of evidence
At the time I wasnt running WDR on the PTZ so its a bit dark and over-contrasty. I've since enabled WDR for daytime use
The other camera is a fixed 5442-Z4 zoomed in to the street to get good facial ID

Actually that ones not a perp. I think he lives there. That’s my old ‘hood. Became pretty “diverse” over the years. About 50% white and a large Caribbean islander demo. Really had few problems. Our stray cats were safe ;)

But the Main Street out front is a superhighway for meth heads and thieves traveling from the crime infested south to the wealthy northern neighborhoods each night to steal. Most don’t stop at our little street, we’ve developed a reputation ;)

Like wow, I have so many questions! First of all, I don't to be where you are! OMG! You can literally read those criminal minds! I notice your PTZ takes off at an exact point. Is that a trip wire event? What distances? I also notice them ALL look at your cam. Do you have lights on? It seems massively effective! Criminals don't like to be tracked.

I mean seeing real user footage coupled with conditions, distance, etc, is so helpful!

One thing many of us find out once we get cameras is how much $#!+ goes on in our own neighborhood that we had no idea about!
