A venerable 2 mp 1/2.8" Starvis PTZ vs current 4 mp 1/1.8" sensor. These are caps at equivalent time of night. New 1/1.8" sensor is astonishingly sharper and much more light sensitive. Yes, the price difference is justified.

Loryta PTZ5A4M-25X 16.667 msec shutter - even zoomed wider shows more finer features and shadow details. Biggest problem is now I want more of these.

BTW, the PTZ5A4M-25X does indeed fit the same mounts as the older, smaller SD49225T-HN. However, I did run into one surprise. The supplied metal cable used to temporarily suspend the larger PTZ has end links too large diameter to pass through the Dahua PFA111 Hanging Mount Adapter's cabling anchor. Had to use attach a separate loop to the PFA111 to accept the new camera's end link. Not something I was happy to discover after hauling new camera up ladder.
