Hello.

I want to start CCTV in my home using my local home network.
My local network is connected by wire cat 5e. But im using one main router (connecting me to Internet) and some acces points
And here is my questiong. Do i have to connect my ip camers dirleclty to NVR or it can be connectet via router or switch ??
For expample
NVR < - Router (main) -> switch poe -> ip camera
or
NVR < - Router (main) -> switch -> switch poe -> ip camera

is it corrent and it should working ?

Please give my your opinion

Some NVR have a POE connection per camera. Some NVR have only one network connection. Almost all NVRs have the ability to have the cameras on the home network. It is strongly recommend to NOT run the video feed through the router. The router may have a problem with the constant continuous load from the cameras.

MODEM -> Router -> Switch ===> NVR
..................................................===> POE SWITCH ->Cameras

or
MODEM -> Router -> POE Switch ===> NVR
........................................................ ===> Cameras

It is strongly recommend that with an NVR and cameras, that they all come from a single manufactures. Do not mix and match. You will loose camera functionality if a camera is not matched to the NVR.
One other thing to keep in mind is that some manufactures limit the ability for NVRs to support there own cameras from different regions. So Chinese hacked cameras may not work with an International NVR. Even from the same manufacture.
