Couple of Questions about IPC-HDW5231R-Z

they are made of solid metal, mount it to something securely and put it out of reach.. If they bring tools the'll defeat any vandalism protection.

as long as your coverage is good, nobody can tamper with or vandalize cameras without being recorded.. If someone knows camera are there and they want to render em useless the'll put a $1 bandana over there face and leave the cameras alone..

Community places, Parks, MultiFamily Dwellings and People at war with there neighbors are the most likely places to encounter camera vandalism, it happens much less frequently than assumed.. if they are not within easy reach you can rest safely.

OK, so if I wanted IVS, what do you think about the coaxial to Ethernet products? Something like:

Jet.com - Prices Drop As You Shop

This was just the first thing I found on google, pretty sure there are better ones. But you get the idea.

Would be cheaper, and smarter just to run new wiring than wasting a moment w/those things.

If you want IP, then run cat5e/cat6.. If you cant run ethernet, then use CVI as a band-aid.. dont try to convert Coax to IP network, it'll cost far more than its worth.

For what its worth, I use this to get Internet to my barn that had coax cable ran by the previous owners.

Amazon.com: DIRECTV Broadband DECA Ethernet to Coax Adapter - Generation II (2 Pack): Computers & Accessories

Slightly older thread, and I'm not saying this would have been a good option for the OP, but I'm happy with the Ethernet over coax setup I've got.
