A Pal was wanting 'my' cam...so,

Is V1 still available at old link?
Is V2 being sent out when ordering at the V1 'old' link?
Is V2 ONLY being offered?

It may be the ale, but I'm confused on whether my pal can order my cam or is now stuck with V2. TIA!

Check with Monica, there is at least one other user I've seen who was told will get v2 on another forum

Monica may already be heading home, I have not had any reply to messaging since Friday. I have about 4 hours left and I am undecided as to what to do.

I saw this link for V2 today (for $156...But also noticed there is an option you can click for "Sensor Size: 1/2.8" that changes the cost to $174.43, (although in the description it already says "1/2.8” CMOS"?? a lot of confusion with description vs pics, vs selection options ).

So what sensor comes standard for the cheaper price and of those buying these around this forum, do you choose the 1/2.8" sensor option? Advantages?

I don't think that is actually an option. It looks to me like clicking on it just updates the total price to include the shipping.

I just don't know about this camera...

The bullet PTZ camera concept itself sounds pretty cool and posts are saying the day and night image is pretty good and I don't think there are any other cameras that have all this functionality in a small bullet design

BUT

I expect a new camera to work properly as advertised.
I recently finished reading every post in both the "2015 PTZ Camera of the year!" and "2016 PTZ Camera of the year!" threads started and nicely followed up on by Klasipca and it just sounds like, given just his issues alone, overall they have to be put into my unreliable category for full time surveillance.
Based on all the posts, they appear to mostly be wrought with quality control issues with this and that not working as expected or at all, misrepresented or missing functionality like no POE or SD card slot when expected to be there, multiple mentions of software glitches, focusing issues and such and on and on.
So it is a cool camera with a lot of cool features...that just don't all work all the time or properly.

It is not my intention to discredit this camera at all but even at the bargain price point for this unique PTZ, I kinda would like it to work properly....

I could see getting one as an experiment and tinker with or as you put it to "test out" maybe if I had the spare change and spare time but I personally don't have the time (nor the expertise) to venture into taking a brand new camera apart and going back & forth with a rep from China to try to get it to work good enough to get by.

That said, I'd really like one but think I'd just end up very frustrated.

In my experience there is no single IP cam without some limitations or issues. Hikvision while a bit more solid in terms of firmware, lacks in features specifically high power IR and PTZ function. (in the same price range) I've had Huisun for 6 month and the only frustration I had was with motion detection which they fixed with v2.
