Hello everyone,

I'm thinking to buy D Link DCS-960L as I think it has a pretty good angle (180 degree!) and according to few reviews on youtube, it works stable and good video quality.

However, I couldn't find any decent reviews in anywhere and I would really like you hear your experts thoughts on this.

Moreover, although it is not listed in QNAP compatible list, I'm thinking to record in QNAP for two of these as well as one baby cam. (850L or 855L open suggestions as well)

Anyone here using this camera at home? I feel blessed if this "anyone" uses this with QNAP (mine is TS-453A).

Many thanks and looking forward to your views.

Cheers,

138 end-user reviews here:

And a few tech pub reviews too - though personally I prefer to see what end-users think.

In my view, as an ipc user with 2xQNAPs, that would not be a sensible, good or logical move.

As an Amazon Associate IPCamTalk earns from qualifying purchases.
It would likely not be possible to get such a somewhat proprietary camera to record via the QNAP NAS when it's lacking in generic standards and not supported on the compatibility list.
Certainly motion detection would likely not be possible, even via workarounds.
You can do quite a lot with 'unsupported' cameras when recognised specifications such as ONVIF are supported.
There is no shortage of good cameras on the compatibility list, it's huge.

Thank you for your answer.

I spent quite a time on Amazon (where i ran into this model at first stage) and I sense most of the reviews have been done by something like "promotion" activity. Although I dont think people would not comment good unless the device is not that good but I would really like to see unbiased end-user opinion in here.

About your QNAP comment, I fully agree with you and in these days no one understands better than me how tricky think to buy something to use with this NAS. However, I already have two of these servers for my personal usage and why wouldn't I use the functionalities and the licenses that I already paid for. If founding a compatible good but fairly cheap camera would be painful, than be it :) I even enjoy this process... Moreover I already raised ticket QNAP to check this device will see when I get return on this. However, most of its models supports motion detection based on this list eventhough they dont support ONVIF. If its on sale in my country I would buy and try it but apparently they only sells it in US for now. Hence I want to make sure before I order it from there.

I need wide angle and not sure I should focus on fish-eye domes as well? (ie: DCS-6010L or equivalent)

Hope someone who uses this camera read this topic and enlighten us :)

Many thanks again,
Cheers..
