Hi all, I have a NVR863 with a handful of cameras working perfectly. I tried for hours to add a Dahua 5442 but the NVR will not allow me to change the ip address (10.1.1.75?). Should I try a main/sub via custom? No clue here. I don’t want to use a PC or blue iris. Hoping to keep everything on the NVR. I like the specs of the 5442 but should I give up and just stick with Lorex? Many thanks.

Lorex is Dahua OEM and plenty of people have added Dahua cams to Lorex NVRs.

How is the camera connected to NVR - it looks like via the NVR POE port? If so, the 10.x.x.x is the subnet the NVR assigns to it.

Is Channel 1 plugged into the NVR channel 1 POE port or is it on a separate POE switch? It appears to be the latter since the NVR will assign anything directly to the ports a 10.x.x.x subnet. Unless you have gone in and changed those settings.

So explain how your other cams are connected and how did you connect the 5442?

My neighbor with a Lorex he simply plugged the 5442 into the NVR and within a few minutes it found it and was displaying the camera.

No switch. All cameras are plugged directly into NVR. Someone said the 30 FPS was too high for my Lorex NVR but my last house ran it fine. Tried a few different passwords that are default but maybe incorrect. Did reset. Funny when I delete it, it still stays in the lower section. It never allows me to initialize it myself. Was going to try to hook it directly to the router to troubleshoot. Wondering if my 5442 is a fake. eBay for $65.

30 fps is a lot if you're running all the cams at that speed....
if the camera is sitting at 10.1.1.75 it might be accessible via a Browser.....if you have alaptop or something. you can log into the NVR page and configure the cams that way as well..
it could that the cam has a previous IP address attached to it...if it has been used before.....
Are you able to add your NVR password to the cam ?

I unplugged all the other cameras, except for the Wi-Fi doorbell. Will try adding the NVR password to the cam tonight but I reset the cam, so was thinking default would work. Never thought of a browser, thanks for all the help.

Working great! I didn’t recognize the IP address via browser but I change the password. It doesn’t work on the other cameras, but for some reason it works on the DAHUA.
