Hello
I have a problem with the network cable, one of the wires is broken. When installing the cable, it seems that the workers damaged my cable (cat5).
Everything was working the other day and it stopped working.
When I examined the pairs of wires, it seems that the wire on pin 3 (blue and white) is broken.
Everything is crimped according to the T568B system, Dahua camera, poe switch dlink.
Do you have a solution? Different crimping?
I can't pull a new cable.
Thank you

Is the area of damage outdoors or in an area out of the weather?
Is there some slack (extra length) in the cable where the damage is, like maybe a foot (12")?

The problem is that I don't know where the break is,
probably somewhere in the wall.
I'm interested in whether poe and data can work, if the cable is crimped in a different way, so this green and white wire will be crimped to another pin,
or with seven wires,
thanks

Well, that's good info that would helped a lot in your initial post.

I wish my guys would “break” cables while installing them and they work for a few days!

Sorry my english maybe not the best :(
Yes, the cable is broken somewhere in the wall and it is difficult for me to tear it all down, drill, and then pull a new cable, about 10 meters
Can poe and data work on 7 wires.
To connect it all differently to the rj45 connectors?

On T-568B, pin 3 is not white/blue, it is supposed to be white/green. :idk:

Sorry
I got confused, green/white is broken.
I wrote at the beginning that the green/white wire, pin 3, was break wire.
You could try abandoning the white/green and move the white/brown from pin 7 to pin 3 on BOTH ends, leaving only 1 wire instead of 2 for the DC-; it might work OK if the camera current draw is minimal and the distance is not too far.

Yep. It helps if yo u have a good test meter that can do TDR and other features. But yes Tony is correct. 7 wires will work most likely if you do it as he said at each end.

It may be worth looking at if you can use mode A for power or you could even power it via 12VDC if that is possible. Ypu only need 2 pr for mode A or a seperate pr. (not counting how you provide the 12V. to the 12v connector)
