Hello,

How can read the recorded data on Samba or NFS share?

I am planning to uses two IPC-HDW5442T-ZE, or to be more precise two IPC-T54IR-ZE-S3. The use of an NVR I have not yet planned for a set-up of two cameras only. I first will check how far I can go with Frigate and the camera build in functions.

To be able to get live view and watch recordings on the SD card via the web interface of the cam is clear to me. Not clear is how I can use the data stored on an NFS or Samba share.
  • Can I watch the data on Samba/NFS share via the camera's web interface, same like from SD card?
  • Is Dahua Software Smart Player running on PC capable doing this?

Are you asking how to setup a Samba/NFS share? (by the way use the Samba rather then NFS). Or is that already setup and your asking how to connect the camera's to that share?

Sorry for not being clear in my post. I provided too much side information and my question was hard to find.
I am asking if I can get access to the data stored on NFS or Samba Share from the camera’s web interface in the same way I can access the recorded data on the SD card.

I am here to collect information for my set-up. By now I do not have gear to just try it out by myself.

yes you can access recordings that are recorded on the share from the camera's web interface in the same way as the SD card.

Thank you.
So fat it looks like that in an two camera set-up I do not need to compromise too much when not using an NVR.

You are losing all SEARCH capabilities which are provided by NVR (for AI events)..
camera allows to show footage, but search capabilities are very limited (date & event type, no other parameters)...
Thank you.
OK, once I will get my IPC-T54IR-ZE-S3, I will check out if I can live with this.
I will go further step-by step in this order
  1. Camera + NAS only in combination with software DMSS and Smart PSS Lite
  2. Frigate NVR
  3. Dahua NVR

Might as well throw Blue Iris in the mix also. It has a 14-day free demo try, so once you get the camera, fire up a windows computer and try the BI demo.
