When I access either of my Dahua cameras directly with Chrome browser, I can neither save or paste the password to log onto the cameras webpage, yet I can on Firefox, on the same Win 10 Pro system.

Because many years ago the firmware was designed around Internet Explorer and they haven't had a sufficient reason or justification to spend the money to update the firmware. As a result, it is unpredictable when using other browsers. Some of the cameras have no problem, while others need Explorer if you want the settings to hold.
if they were using simlpe html forms, paste would work automatically.
