Hi, I had just setup this xvr with 3 analog cameras and 12 ip cameras. I've being having a few issues with it:

  • Ip cameras light control and two way communication don't work while watching through the nvr.

  • There is only motion detection on the nvr settings, I was planning on using it on the analog cameras. It gets triggered by bugs, birds, animals all the time. It has a face detect option but it can only be set up on channel 1, it does not trigger anything though. On the DMSS app there is the SMD option with human and vehicle detection. Sadly, enabling it does nothing.

So I thought to myself, there maybe is an update that has human detection and can also control the ip cameras better. I searched from the nvr and it finds no update. To my surprise, when I looked for my model it only appears in the eurasia website of Dahua. The site is in russian, and with google translate it appears that there is no firmware available to download. After looking for some other Dahua products sold in my country (Argentina) I found out that several of them only appear on the eurasia region as well.

My current firmware is V3.218.0000002.1 build 2017-12-29. Do you guys know if there is an update available? Will it fix any of my issues or will it remain the same? Also what is the deal with Dahua products that are not listed on the global site but they are on the eurasia one?

Thanks

It sounds like you have an NVR that had its firmware from another region hacked to a language in your region.

Those are not updatable unless the vendor you purchased from provides an update.

Otherwise updating it will either brick it or put it in the native language of the region the NVR is from.

Thats an older EOL (2017) XVR hybrid recorder.

You need to make all settings for the IP cameras on the Cameras GUI itself. Not the NVR interface

The specs seem to indicate you can run 1 cahneel of IVS/Tripwire on your analog cameras, but If I recall, that is disabled when you enable IP cameras.

With only 3 of 15 channels analog, its a poor choice of a recorder.

I was hoping that wasn't the case, I'll try to contact the vendor but I don't have any hopes they made an update.

I know it wasn't the wisest choice, but I had it collecting dust, removed from another installation where it was needed to watch recordings of several cameras for hours often, the playback was too slow so we had it replaced.

Now I have it on a farm and that is not a problem. So I figured I put it to use and pick compatible dahua ip cams with built in human detection to alert any intruders. The only point of having it running is backup and a centralized view in dmss for all cameras. I'll probably add 6-10 more ip cameras to it.

The fun thing is that you can still buy this xvr brand new for 900 dollars here.

You shouldnt have any problems with the IP cameras. Its simply recording what they send it. Just make all of your settings on the cameras themselves, set the Record Schedule on the XVR and live with no AI on the 3 analog cameras until you replace them.
