I've already sent an email to Dahua support but hoping someone here can help.

I'm trying to upgrade the firmware for this Dahua model: IPC-HDW4831EM-ASE

I downloaded this zip file: IPC-HDW4831EM-ASE_Firmware_1633155111816.zip

The above ZIP file contains two ZIP files:

DH_IPC-HX5X3X-Rhea_MultiLangPNStream3_V2.800.0000018.0.R.210707.zip (this file contains) DH_IPC-HX5X3X-Rhea_MultiLang_PN_Stream3_V2.800.0000018.0.R.210707.bin

DH_IPC-HX5X3X-Rhea_MultiLang_NPStream3_V2.800.0000018.0.R.210707.zip (this file contains) DH_IPC-HX5X3X-Rhea_MultiLang_NP_Stream3_V2.800.0000018.0.R.210707.bin

My question is, which BIN file do I use?

The only difference between the file names are the letters, PN and NP. I don't know what that means; therefore, I don't know which one to use.

Any help would be appreciated.

I read somewhere here that P is for PAL and N for NTSC. The same post claimed this didn’t matter for IP cameras. My guess is that PN is default PAL and NP is default NTSC, which would make sense if you have a coax system hooked up to monitors I guess. Someone probably has a better answer. I’ve been upgrading my 5241H-AS-PV through probably 10 firmware upgrades and PN/NP hasn’t made a noticeable difference. I use the PN version out of habit now.
