I have a new EmpireTech IPC-Color4K-T180 running FW V3.140.0000000.21.R, Build Date: 2024-05-14. This is my first with the newer and flashy FW. My experience is with the old Dahua FW.

Problem:
After following the steps below and creating trip wires I'm not getting the green tracking box showing up on the screen. Trip wires do show up.

Steps I took:
I followed Andy’s video for the IPC-Color4K-T180 from 2 years ago

1) Smart Plan > General Mode > Enable IVS > Add Rule > Tripwire

2) Sensitivity Max > Target Filter (Tried Both) > Full Time > Drew my trip wires > Apply

3) Switch to Live > No Green Tracking Box

He adds and intrusion rule in the video but that shouldn’t be required.

What am I missing? Problem with this FW?

Are your sure the camera is triggering? Do you have an SD card in the camera to confirm it triggered for the event?

Are you on auto/default settings?

Many of us have noticed the T180 is the least sensitive of the bunch of cameras. It struggles outside the middle third of the field of view. The far ends struggle. But even in the center, it does struggle with some fields of view.

I had a similar issue with this model, the fix for me, was to keep the field of view leveled.
Meaning, make sure the field of view is parallel to the floor as much as possible.
You can post a manual screenshot, if you want me verify.

I have storage setup as Event type, all 3, Network, NAS, enable & my NVR IP. On my NVR side it's configured and viewing without the motion box either.

Record Control = Auto

Time Plan = All 3 24/7

I'll need to dig around for an SD card but I'll try that next. Thanks for the suggestion. I'm still unsure why only the NAS destination would cause the tracking box not to show. As for sensitivity I'm using my hand 2 ft in front of the cam.

Are youbon default/auto settings for things like shutter, contrast, etc? Auto is a recipe for missed triggers. Contrast has to be at least 7-8 higher than brightness number.

Let's see the field of view.

As for the image I was on default for everything. I've now increased Contast to 60 which is 10 above brightness, no change. I can comprehend missed triggers but ever since the first drawing of a tripwire I've never seen the green tracking box.

FYI, the Updater is displaying that this is the most recent FW available. I did read another thread that FW older than mine had problems and that getting even an older one from Andy at the time solved that problem.

See attached.

You are not seeing a box because the camera isn't/wasn't thinking it saw an object to trigger on.

You need to get that outside. That is too close to reasonable trigger with this camera. This camera was designed for a higher install and seeing a whole body head to toe.

My min box size for both tripwire rules is ~ 300x300. Just FYI I also have Record, E-mail & Snapshot enabled.

I moved the cam outside and while viewing on a browser in my hand walked the entire field without any trigger box showing, no change.

I have mine as an overview camera, placed in about 4m (13 ft) high.
I never tried to use it like you use, but at least I see it's leveled, maybe disable the min size and try to aim it a bit lower.
There is also other config that may help:

Do not have a min object size. Mine is 0,0.ad are most people here.

I would delete the rule and set up again.

How far away were you from camera?

Min object size was the problem, weird. I have 4 others using tripwires but the old style FW and use a small min to try filtering some of the humid summer bugs.

SOLVED Thanks Folks! SOLVED

None of my cameras show this tracking box. What is the solution? I believe that in IE, it used to show, but in Chrome not anymore.
