Dahua HDBW4231E-ASE or HDBW2249E-S-IL?

Hello, I'm new and I'm looking for a camera for low light, which one is better image quality wise? 4231 is older but it's a "4" model while the 2249 is newer but entry model. Both are 2.8" but on paper it seems like 4231 has better hardware.


I could get both with similar price, 4231 is around $15 more.

Of the two, in theory, the specs on the 2249E are much better for min illumination

I wouldnt buy either as they're domes and the 5442 series and/or the HDW3449H-AS-PV-PRO would be far superior in low light

I'm looking for HDBW instead of HDW because I want to place this outdoor, so I need it to be vandalproof (IK10 rated) which most HDW doesn't have.

Most here install cameras within easy reach of perps and they are not messed with. If a perp wants to vandalize it, vandalproof isn't gonna stop it.

Where do you plan to install - outside or inside? If outside, the dome will do poorly.
