I have a couple of Dahua ipc-hdw5831r-ze cameras and the round junction boxes for mounting on an outside wall. I watched a video on Youtube showing how to install the mount and the camera, and it looks like there's supposed to be a plastic ring that attaches to the outside metal plate of the junction box and then the camera just snaps onto this plate? I did not receive the plastic ring with the camera or with the junction box. Can someone provide some advice? Thanks!

Post a picture of all your parts. I don't think your model is the one with the plastic ring.

Nope you are not missing anything.

Your base is metal and you have to unscrew this little lock screw to take the ball and "frame" off the round support so that you can then screw it to the junction box. It should be 3 pieces - the base, the "frame" holding the ball and the ball.
